Joey Logano hit the NASCAR scene in 2008 and made a huge splash at the very young age of 18. He quickly made a name for himself in the Nationwide series with a win in only his third start. Shortly after he hit the scene people started calling him "sliced bread". 

In 2009, Joey was promoted to the NASCAR Sprint Cup scene and tapped to replace Tony Stewart in the Home Depot number 20 for Joe Gibbs racing. Expectations were very high for Joey to do well and win fast. Many expected to see the stands filled with Joey Logano infant clothes, hats, sunglasses and other NASCAR gear.

However, the same year that Joey made his debut in the Cup series NASCAR changed the testing rules so that race teams could no longer test on the same tracks they raced on. NASCAR did this to even out the playing field and allow smaller teams the ability to compete. 

The lack of testing kept Joey from being able to learn tracks before he actually raced on them. This lack of practice lead to a much longer learning curve than most had expected for such a talented kid.
